A Heart for Missions
Fairdale Baptist Church, located in the Fairmount community south of Hemphill, TX, has always been a giving church with a heart for missions. Pastor JR McDonald began leading the church in January 2019, bringing the vision “Love, Know, and Go” with him. COVID made ‘Going’ difficult; however, it didn’t diminish the desire to help spread the gospel.
Iglesia Bautista Vida Eterna Nacogdoches, TX
Fairdale had recently started investing with the Southern Baptists of Texas Foundation (SBTF). The idea of using the capital from its CET investments to benefit churches in need was born and quickly gained momentum.
Two pastors had met more than 20 years ago on a mission trip. Though from different backgrounds and cultures, the men formed a bond with a shared vision of spreading the gospel. Through that growing friendship, Fairdale Baptist Church partnered with Primera Iglesia Bautista Hispana in Jasper, TX, with support to their community, Vacation Bible School, and other mission outreaches. The two churches enjoyed many fellowships together. God has used the different cultures to bless and strengthen His Kingdom. Fairdale Baptist Church was introduced to Iglesia Bautista Vida Eterna in Nacogdoches, TX through Primera, and that friendship quickly grew among the church family. A deep, brotherly love for both churches is evident when speaking to Fairdale Baptist Church’s congregation. God has given Fairdale a desire to support these two specific Hispanic churches. The return on the investment with the SBTF makes that possible.
Iglesia Bautista Vida Eterna
Primera has started a new church building project, and the interest money Fairdale earns has been directed to their building fund. They recognize God’s provision and proclaim His glory for giving churches a heart full of His grace!
Iglesia is a church plant that began services in July 2020. Their marriage retreat and youth nights reach many people in the community. They recently celebrated 17 new believers! The donated funds from Fairdale have been a welcomed boost to their building project. They give God the glory for uniting the churches, growing friendships, and sharing a heart’s desire to see His kingdom increase.
All believers of Christ are bound with the mission of sharing the gospel of Christ. Fairdale Baptist Church recognizes the strengths of culturally similar brothers and sisters sharing the gospel with their community. Using interest earned through CET investments to support these ministries is a blessing and a joy to the congregation.
