Investment Options for Churches

The Southern Baptists of Texas Foundation (SBTF) has the privilege of serving many of our SBTC churches through our cash management services.

These churches choose to benefit from the competitive rates being paid on daily cash accounts and term certificates. Churches also feel great about partnering with the SBTF as they provide loans to Texas churches and ministries to expand their campuses to more effectively reach their communities for Christ.

However, the Foundation provides more than just these services! For almost two decades, the Foundation has provided its clients with quality investment products anchored by the trusted back-office services of GuideStone Mutual Funds and PNC Institutional Asset Management. The SBTF is privileged to manage over $140 million in kingdom assets and would be honored to visit with your organization.

“The Foundation has been an incredible partner for Jacksonville College. Their ability to customize solutions to meet our needs has been a game changer.”

Dr. Joe Lightner
Former President of Jacksonville College

Churches and ministries seeking to manage investment assets with a horizon of five years or longer (i.e., endowment or scholarship fund) should consider the Foundation’s full complement of customizable investment options. The SBTF Income, Equity, and Alternatives Funds are comprised of Guidestone Mutual Funds that support biblical values. Guidestone does not invest in companies that are publicly recognized as being in objectionable industries. The exclusionary screening of these SBTF funds provide clients with the opportunity to advocate for their Christian values by investing with the nation’s largest faith-based mutual fund family.

The Foundation also provides quality outsourced investment solutions for churches and ministries through PNC Institutional Asset Management, the #2 ranked OCIO manager by foundation assets and a company with over $180 billion under management. Using PNC, the Foundation provides clients with well-diversified funds to meet their organization’s investment goals while controlling risk and managing costs. The SBTF Endowment Fund is actively managed with a long-term growth objective. At the same time, the SBTF Enhanced Cash Fund is designed to manage operating reserves and working capital needs through diversified short-term investments.

The Foundation also provides investment options to individuals and families through Donor Advised Funds (DAF). With a DAF, one can select from fund options with varying degrees of risk tolerance depending on the time horizon of their planned donations to churches and other charities. The Conservative, Balance, and Growth Funds are comprised of well-diversified and actively managed PNC funds to meet the financial objectives of the DAF.
